Clinic
The South Wales Huntington’s Disease service provides clinical care to all those in the region affected by HD, as well as facilitating access to clinical research studies.
Led by Professor Anne Rosser, Dr Tom Massey and Dr Duncan McLauchlan, we:

Provide multidisciplinary clinical management for people who are affected by Huntington’s Disease across South and Mid Wales

Liaise with local healthboard services to ensure people with HD get the care they need

Inform and support people with HD and their families, ensuring effective coordination of care

Advise and educate professionals caring for HD families

provide personalised support around finances, benefits, advanced care planning, lasting power of attorney and, when needed, palliative care.

Offer people with HD and their families opportunities to take part in clinical studies, including observational studies and trials of new treatments
Individuals using the service range from those who are gene positive and asymptomatic to those with more advanced, symptomatic disease. Our service is set up for adults (those aged 18 and over) but we are happy to offer advice to clinical colleagues regarding those under 18 who are affected by, or at risk of, HD.
